The Eastern Regional Office works on the frontlines of animal protection issues in 22 states, including all of the Eastern Seaboard from Maine to Florida, as well as Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia.
We work throughout the region to support animal welfare legislation, fight animal cruelty in all forms, respond to animals in danger from man-made and natural disasters, and engage like-minded citizens to promote the protection of animals.

Sherry Schlueter became a cop solely to fight animal cruelty. Now, after 30 years of doing that as a lieutenant in the Broward County Sheriff's Office, she has traded in her law enforcement badge to run the SPCA Wildlife Care Center that recently joined forces with The HSUS. There she will oversee the rescues of the 14,000 or so injured, abandoned or abused native wild animals and exotic domestic animals who come through the center each year. More» |
